Can Oleza

The courtyard of Can Oleza is one of the best kept in the city, the house also is very well kept. This house is still in the hands of the family that built it, in the renaissance, whereas you can´t make a visit inside the house (is still this family´s house) you will make a good picture. If you want so see how a house like that is inside, you have to keep going in that street and then turn left to Almudaina street, then left, you will find Can Marques is the only nice house in Palma, that can be visited, now is a museum

On Friday 23 of March 2007 Can Oleza was sold to the businessman Vicente Grande, the owner of the Mallorca football team. Where as, there is many palaces in Palma, like this one, this one was considered a symbol for the mallorcan nobility the building was sold for 19.5 million euros. That day is a sad day for the neibourhood and for the city.

It happened the same with Bran Castle (Dracula Castle). Was property of the Habsburg Family but they sold it to an owner of a footbal team

Thanks for your efforts to make me feel like at home

Cory, Jan-2007, Netherlands

Very very nice rooms, in particular i loved the room number five that has a private terrace, I spent most of my time there. The location is also superb. I have to say, that I was a little disapointed, because there was nobody in the reception, but we paid 80 for a single room and 120 for the room with terrace so I kind of understand.

Martin, Jan-2007

Great location, you are in the city center. I will tell all my friends

Robert, Jan-2007

You get what you pay for:
This hotel is a good value for the money you pay. I knew the hotel Dalt Murada from before and this time I decided to book in Ca Sa Padrina, I saw there was a lot of difference of Price. When I went there, I saw that the room was nice, but that Dalt Murada was a better option for me so I went there.

"Cosy, charming, old-mallorca-athmosphere in the heart of Palma, between living Rambla and silent convents. small & private, with comfortable details like antiques furnitures, Jacuzzi-bath, fridge&water safe and flatscreen-tv.

History

The Dalt Murada Hotel is located in Palma´s old town center, in a house once property of the
Mallorcan Nobility.

The Ca´n Sureda de Sant Martí house is on Almudaina Street, provably one of the most
exclusive streets in the medieval times. Ca´n Sureda de Sant Martí was owned by Salvador Sureda de
Sant Martí i Sa Font in the XV century. He was at the service of King Alfonso V, King Joan II and the
Catholic King, he became famous by challenging the Catalonian knight Francisco de Valseca in presence
of the monarch of Aragon in 1444 while in Naples.

This family always had very important political and administrative duties in the Mallorcan
kingdom

When Don Mariano Salvador Sureda de Sant Martí i Desbrull passed away without successors,
the family died down and the house on Almudaina street changed on to the Sureda families´s hands,
branch of the Marquis of Vivot, who owned the property until the XIX century. Later it became the
residence of the family Bestard de la torre. Now the house ins in the hands of the Sancho Moragues
family. The Moragues family came to Mallorca in 1230.

Today the Hotel Dalt Murada is located in this house and the original distribution has been
kept. The hotel has three double rooms and five suites.
